Hati hati memposting foto anda di media sosial atau situs storage gratis. Di smartphone memiliki fitur geotag atau data foto diambil akan disimpan dalam foto. Foto dapat menunjukan dimana keberadaan anda, dan bisa dimanfaatkan orang orang yang tidak berkepentingan. Bukan foto pribadi saja, misalnya keluarga sering mengabadikan foto anak anak lalu diupload ke media sosial atau sampai menyebutkan nama yang ada di foto. Bisa memancing kejahatan. Seperti foto foto yang menampilkan banyak barang bagus dan mahal dapat memancing penjahat untuk mengambil barang.
Foto yang diupload ke Facebook atau media sosial dan file foto share lain akan tetap membawa data lokasi dimana foto diambil. Dan bisa dibaca oleh orang lain, bahkan sangat detil dimana letak foto diabadikan. Dan orang lain dapat melihat dilihat di browser computer. Bila ragu apakah foto pernah yang diupload masih membawa Geotag. Di setting media sosial bisa dimatikan untuk info foto.
Goetag dapat di nonaktifkan. Beberapa setting mematikan Geotag dibawah ini
Disable Geotag iPhone (4.0):
1. Go to Settings.
2. Select General.
3. Select Location Services.
4. Locate Camera from the list of apps that use Location Services and change the setting to OFF.
